Recruitment

Application Form

It will depend on current leadership discretion, but it is recommended to have an application form for developers (mobile & web development), product design, and data.

Advertise Application

Please update the organizations to reach out to every year! Here are the ones for FA20. share to all undergraduate EECS population. You may also reach out to the entire EECS, DS, etc majors to advertise our opportunities if our request is approved. See here for instructions.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is our main way to maintain and improve diversity within the web team. It is really crucial for us to reach out to tech orgs that represent underrepresented communities outside of the Asian and white male demographics.

Review Applicants

This [google sheet] is the application decisions sheet from Winter 2022. Copy the format and make a new one in the current year’s recruitment folder.

Helpful note: Start reviewing applications as they come in to relieve the backlog.

Interview

The number of interviewees depends on the desired number of new members for each subteam. Each subteam leader should be able to reserve rooms for the interviews in this calendar. It is encouraged that all subteam leaders are present to make a fair decision for the candidate. Notes should be taken throughout the meeting - if needed, the interviewer can ask a team member to help take notes. It will be good leadership for non-leadership team members to interview candidates.

The questions for each subteam should be standardized across interviewees! For inspiration, this [google docs] is the questions list from Winter 2022.

Review Interviewees

Leadership should choose acceptances for their corresponding subteam.

Final Decision Email

This email should contain all web team onboarding steps. See newbie onboarding checklist [google doc] from Winter 2022 for things to include in the email.

Onboarding tasks from the Director of Recruitment may be communicated by RCs after web team members finish their web team onboarding steps.
