Global Styles
The Michigan Daily uses some custom styles to better deliver an aesthetically consistent web presence. The global custom CSS is accessible to site administrators by selecting “Customize” in the edit bar, then scrolling down to “Additional CSS”.
It’s generally desirable to keep global custom CSS to a minimum. The more custom styling we add, the likelier it is that future upstream theme changes will break the website.
That said, if it’s necessary to add a global style, make sure there are clear comments explaining what your CSS rule does.
Post-specific styles
For styles local to a specific post, you can add a custom HTML block. If you don’t have this option, your account may not have the adequate permissions. Contact an editor or administrator to do this for you (the MOEs will definitely be able to do this!)
